At the event “ZIRP at 8”, Rhineland-Palatinate’s Prime Minister Malu Dreyer praised the SME 4.0 Competence Center at SmartFactoryKL as one of the highlight projects to implement Industrie 4.0 ideas. How digitization will change enterprises, this was the focus topic at the event „ZIRP at 8“ in Mainz on December 7, 2106.
Digitization plays a great role in Rhineland-Palatine, especially since the state has many small and medium-sized enterprises in the industrial, service and start-up sectors.

Industrie 4.0 is a topic which is finding its way into the agendas of regional companies more and more. „Industrie 4.0 has its roots in Rhineland-Palatine and we are doing great progress in applying its ideas to local companies, especially to small and medium enterprises,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detlef Zühlke, CEO of Technologie-Initiative SmartFactory KL e.V., in his speech.

The effects of digitization on various corporate divisions will be discussed in the event series “ZIRP at 8” by Zukunftsinitiative Rheinland-Pfalz (Future initiative Rhineland-Palatinate“) in the course of 2017. More information at www.zirp.de (German only).
