The software manufacturer Empolis Information Management GmbH is the newest member of SmartFactoryKL.
“Thanks to Empolis, our technology initiative is expanded by a medium-sized and regional company based in Kaiserslautern. I am particularly pleased that Empolis has emerged from the environment of the local institutes, especially the DFKI, and will now work with us in the field of Artificial Intelligence,” said Prof. Dr. Detlef Zühlke, Chairman of the Board of SmartFactoryKL.
Dr. Stefan Wess, CEO of Empolis, adds: “We are very excited to be part of this globally unique platform and hope to contribute to this phenomenal project. As AI specialists, we have in-depth experience and knowledge of machines, processes and business models. To remain internationally competitive, manufacturers must seize the opportunity to digitize and monetize their know-how. This does not mean that AI applications will fully replace industrial workers. Rather, they will have digital assistants at their sides to support them in making right decisions, even in difficult situations, and to solve problems more quickly on site.”
