On the 27th of July professor Zühlke, chairman of the Executive Board Technology-Initiative SmartFactory KL e.V., Scientific Director, Innovative Factory systems DFKI and professor at the TU Kaiserslautern met the invitation of EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger in Brussels.

Topic was the Europe-wide development and networking of “digital-innovation-hubs”, based on the models of German initiatives. The objective is to develop a Europe-wide platform for application-oriented research, industry and national initiatives in the field of Industrie 4.0. With the given invitation the EU Commissioner kept his promise that he gave at his TU KL visit last year, to forward developments in this field Europe-wide. The talks will be continued at a round-table in September in Brussels.
