SmartFactoryKL is a partner in the project “DAKARA – Design and application of a compact, energy-efficient and configurable camera matrix for spatial analysis”, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). A total of five partners from industry and research have been working for two years on a camera matrix which, as a novel sensor, opens up a wide range of applications for autonomous driving and manual assembly processes in industry. At the presentation of the half-time milestone, the consortium partners presented the first prototype of the camera.
Tests at the application partners Bosch Rexroth AG and DFKI (Department Innovative Factory Systems with SmartFactory-KL) show that manual assembly processes can be supported by intelligent assistance systems. In addition to the depth information of the DAKARA camera matrix, this is also due to the intelligent algorithms for hand recording developed by the project partner CanControls GmbH.
