More than 40 representatives of the member companies of SmartFactoryKL attended a strategy meeting on July 15-16 in Mannheim. The first presentation highlighted the results from the internal update and development of the new mission statement “SmartFactory 2025.” The defining concept: combine autonomous production systems with AI methods in support of the factory worker.
In addition, a concept was presented for new demonstrators to be implemented in time for the Hannover Messe 2020. The idea is that these can be gradually expanded as we implement the technologies of “Smartfactory 2025” in the production systems of tomorrow.
The concepts for manufacturing in the future and the demonstrator ideas were discussed in various workshops and working groups with a focus on collecting member input. The representatives of the member companies confirmed the course taken by Prof. Ruskowski and his team.
Several companies expressed their willingness to work on the new demonstrators. Also well received was the announcement of the newly formed working groups (WG1: Cyber-physical production modules / WG2: Connect & Control / WG3: Cognitive Factory). The constituting meetings of the working groups are underway so as to enable specific project work to begin soon.
