- SmartFactoryKL takes aim at new business models
- Prof. Dr. Detlef Zühlke co-authors new study
Everyone is talking about the concept of “Industrie 4.0.” Government policy encourages companies to invest in new technologies to ensure they remain competitive in the future. But smaller companies often face financial risk in planning and execution. Networks and cooperative ventures can be the answer – as in the case of “SmartFactoryKL” in Kaiserslautern. This is a network of companies working together to develop the technologies of Industry 4.0 and integrate them into their business models. Researchers in Kaiserslautern and Berlin investigated how such network-based models can assist companies in the future. The results of their study are published in the trade journal “Die Unternehmung.”
