More than 250 participants discussed the importance of digitalization
The ZIRP (Initiative for the Future of Rhineland-Palatinate) organized a congress on “Networking in Rhineland-Palatine – Enterprises in times of digital change”, in co-operation with the Society for Informatics.The event was held at the Hochschule Mainz. Main topics were the benefits of digitalization for innovation as well as support for enterprises to achieve this goal.
Brigitte Zypries, Federal Minister of Economics, and Malu Dreyer, Prime Minister of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, held keynotes. Both politicians emphasized the importance of digitalization for SMEs, the backbone of the German economy.
Brigitte Zypries also highlighted the work of the Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentren (SME 4.0 Competence Centers) in Germany, especially the importance of the Center in Kaiserslautern for the region.
SmartFactoryKL and the Competence Center of Kaiserslautern were present: Prof. Dr. Detlef Zuehlke spoke in the panel on Industrie 4.0. In addition, the demonstrator SkalA (Scalable Automation) was on display.
