Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister for Education and Research, came to Kaiserslautern with the Minister for Scientific Affairs from Rhineland-Palatinate, Prof. Dr. Konrad Wolf, to learn about artificial intelligence.
They visited the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and SmartFactory-KL. Prof. Dr. Detlef Zühlke, Chairman of the Board at SmartFactory-KL, and Prof. Dr. Martin Ruskowski, Head of the Research Department „Innovative Factory Systems“ at DFKI, gave a tour of SmartFactory-KL and presented the politicians an individually manufactured name card holder as a souvenir.
During the visit, the guests learned about diverse applications and research projects of artificial intelligence and the factory of the future. The Federal Minister was impressed by the close cooperation of research and industry to make progress in the field of AI. Mister Wolf praised the great work application-oriented research on AI.
